Fundraising auction

My church had a fundraising auction and it was a huge success! There was a silent auction and a live auction, which made it extra fun. I loved the theme, which made for some extra cute handmade decor. I thought I would share some pictures of the event since it was so well done!

(sorry for lack of posts, morning sickness is serious business)

Chalkboard project

Love everything about this idea. I'm on it as soon as I feel up to tackling a project with morning sickness! I've never been able to keep herbs alive very long since I don't think my yard gets enough sunlight. I'm not going to give up though. I use too many fresh herbs in my meals!

Tutorial request

Here it is friends!

A while back some friends and I started saving our old glass jars, bottles and vases to paint and make pretty on a cheap budget! I found the idea here.

I went to Home Depot and bought some quarter gallon colors, white, grey and light blue. It worked out well because we were able to mix the white with the grey and blue to make even more colors.

You have to make sure the the inside on the bottles are completely clean and dry. Otherwise, the paint starts to drip and crack over time.

We just used plastic cups (didn't have funnels) to pour paint into the bottles. We were able to squeeze the plastic cups into a small opening if the bottle had a skinny top. Then we just turned the bottles over and over until the paint coated the entire inside of the bottle. Make sure to drain the excess paint so that you don't have a puddle of paint leftover on the bottom that never really fully dries.

Also, buy these if you want to use them as vases with flowers.

Hope this helps, it was a super fun and easy craft. Enjoy!

Of course I love displaying pictures in my house, so I LOVE seeing new and interesting ways to do that! This was a display at a cute wedding found here

We did a bottle painting craft night, and I loved it!

Need a challenge?

If I had the time these days, I would attempt this adorable soda/flatware caddy. With summer picnics and barbeques right around the corner, I thought this would make for a fun project. Ok, maybe not so fun doing the actual project, but the finished product! I love the chalk board detail. It adds just the right touch.

Who knew bugs could be so cool?

Beckett told his mom that he wanted a bug birthday party. To say that she delivered would be a complete understatement. Leave it to Natalie to make a bug party something that I would want for my next 28th birthday party! It was one of the funnest kids birthday parties I've ever been to. Not only did I feel like I was an entomologist right in the middle of the wild rain forest discovering new insect species, but we actually got to be an audience to Steve the Nature Guy. Steve brought some actual wild life...like bugs, lizards, snakes, etc. for our viewing pleasure. The kids were even allowed to hold and touch some of them! It was so so fun.

Yes, those are actual tree stumps she got off craigslist

Party Favors:
A jar of lady bugs and directions on how to release them into your garden!
